About Sopot City

 Summer capital of Poland, trendy place, willingly visited by people who need not only a rest and breathing space but also an entertainment. Clean, sandy beaches spread for about 4.5 km of the Sopot coast where you can borrow water- beach equipment and find showers, water slides, brilliant pubs, coffee houses and clubs. For several years, Sopost City has been known as the best organized and the safest seaside resort in Pomorskie province. Many sports and recreational events, such as: Top Trendy, Heineken, Sopot Hit Festival, volleyball and basketball competitions, happenings, stage performances make Sopot an amazing city.

 

ATTRACIONS OF SOPOT

• A PIER

A wooden platform, standing on logs, consisting of two levels, presents the most participated walking place for tourists, no matter in which season. In the area which directly sticks to the pier there is  a small park where we can find a concert shell and an interesting fountain. We can also find here tiny restaurants and souvenir stands offering especially amber products. The pier is also a harbour for yachts and sailing boats.

 

• HEROES OF MONTE CASSINO STREET, „MONCIAK”

Very famous promenade which connects the coast with vivid hills of the Tricity Scenery Park complex. n the one side of the promenade there is Zdrojowy Square, the pier and the beach, and on the other side there is a Sea Eye and Leśna Opera hidden in a beautiful forestal scenery. In the ground floors of the tenement houses from XIX/XX century, and also in modern buildings such as the Twisted House, we can enjoy the atmosphere of stylish pubs, restaurants or cafes. Apart from modern places of entertainment we can find here also places with really long artistic traditions such as: the SPATiF Club localized near „Monciak”. In 2009 many new coffee houses, clubs, restaurants, Multicinema and The Shelton Hotel appeared in this area. New built Haffner Centre suits perfectly to the urban climat of the resort. When we turn to side- streets of Monte Cassino, we transfer to the world full of secessional tenement houses, antique parks and gardens.

 

• THE TWISTED HOUSE

three- storyed futuristic building placed in the centre of Sopot near the Monte Cassino promenade. Inside this untypical architecture we can find cafes, restaurants, offices and galleries. The building is also a location of FMF FM Radio. It is very often visited by tourists doing shopping and admiring the building's presence.

 

• SIERAKOWSKI MANOR HOUSE

With the Spain Manor, it belongs to the oldest historical monument of Sopot City. On the groundfloor  some historical details retained, such as: tile stoves from the end of XVIII century, two- sides ornamented doors, many metal fittings, stuccoed facades, rosette, and paintings on the ceiling. rom 1974 The Sierakowski Manor House- as a residence of  The  Association of Sopot Friends- plays a significant role as  one the citie's most active cultural centre.

 

• SPATiF 

The Mecca of artists and individuals,  exclusive Club of Creative Environment. his place attracts a lot of actors, painters, musicians, fashion creators, doctors, lawyers and also ordinary people.

 

• JAŚ FISHERMAN FOUNTAIN

Placed in the lower part of the representative promenade of the city- Heroes of Monte Cassino Street. The monument shows a Sopot fisherman holding a basket filled with fish on his head. The monument was made in the memory of the XVII century fishing colony.
